This 7 days safari mainly focuses on Uganda’s primates. You track chimpanzees and mountain gorillas in their natural habitat before meeting animals of the savannah in Lake Mburo National Park.

Day 1 Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable forest

On arrival at Kigali airport, you will be met by your guide for transfer to Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to more than half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. The whole journey is through terraced hills and valleys and therefore spectacular.

Day 2 Gorilla tracking

After a mighty breakfast prepared by your accommodation, you enter the Impenetrable forest with your packed lunch to search for the endangered mountain gorillas. Be ready to walk for 45 minutes to 6  hours depending on where you will find the gorillas that day. Having encountered them, you will be given a full hour to interact with gorillas and then return to your accommodation. You will be close to the endangered mountain gorilla, the most muscular primate on earth. This is one of the most breath taking animal encounters.

Day 3 Batwa community visit and transfer to Kalinzu forest

Today, you will have breakfast at leisure and later visit a Batwa community. They will perform a cultural dance(feel free to join) as you also learn about their culture. You will later on travel to Kalinzu Forest on the boarders of Queen Elizabeth National Park keeping in mind that you will track chimpanzees the next day.

Day 4 Chimpanzee tracking

Having had breakfast, you will enter Kalinzu Forest for another primate trek. You embark on chimpanzee tracking this time. This activity is a bit challenging but very rewarding, so expect to walk for one to four hours depending on  where the chimps will be on this day. Having encountered them, you will enjoy a full hour with them. The chimpanzees’ behavior can provide a clue to that of our early ancestors.

Day 5 Hike through the Bunyaruguru crater lakes and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

This morning, we hike through the Bunyaruguru crater lakes region. This area is home to 52 crater lakes including, Mirambi, Kyema, Katinda Twin lakes and so on. The area is good for sightseeing and also has traditional stories behind it. We then have lunch and travel to the savannahs of Lake Mburo National park.

Day 6 Full day game drives

You are to have a morning and evening game drives in search for zebras, buffaloes, impalas, eland, topi, giraffes, warthogs and so much more. You are also to have an afternoon boat trip on lake Mburo which will give you an opportunity to see hippos, crocodiles, many bird species including the African Fish Eagle, kingfishers, cormorants, herons, African fin foot and so on.

Day 7 Transfer to Entebbe International Airport

We wake up and have breakfast at leisure and later travel to Entebbe.On our way there, we have a stop at Kayabwe(Equator village) for photos. Equator is the imaginary line on the world map marked 00 and divides the world into the northern and the southern hemisphere. You will be dropped off at either Entebbe airport or at a hotel of your choice in the area hence end of service.

Note that weather at Bwindi is un predictable, it can rain at any time.

To confirm this tour,  please make a 1/2 deposit of the quoted price. The remaining balance can be settled either in cash on arrival or transferred to our bank account a week before arrival.

This safari is still customizable, you can remove the bits you do not want and add the ones that you want to meet your budget and interest.
