EASTERN UGANDA EXPERIENCE-5 Days

This 5 days’ safari mainly focus on adventure activities in Eastern Uganda. Be ready to embark on nature walks, boat safaris, game drives white water rafting, bungee jumping, kayaking, abseiling and so on.

Day 1 Transfer to Jinja

At 7:00 Am, you will be met by your guide for transfer to Jinja Uganda’s adventure capital.  Enroute, you are to have a nature walk in Mabira Uganda’s largest forest. This forest is home to over 350 bird species and a number of primates including; olive baboons, vervet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and so on.  You have an option to take part in zip lining in this forest.

Day 2 Nile River Exploration

We wake up for breakfast and have a boat trip to see the source of the River Nile. This is the world’s longest river and the water here takes 90 days to complete its journey to the Mediterranean Sea. The bird life here is also spectacular and species to see include; marabou stalk, pelicans, African Fish Eagles, herons, Kingfishers, saddle billed stalks and so on. After lunch we go for more adventures.  Feel free to take part in either white water rafting or kayaking or bungee jumping or horseback riding. Should you wish to experience the night life in Jinja, let your guide know.

Day 3 Transfer to Sipi Falls

After breakfast, you will continue East of the country to the slopes of mountain Elgon. This is where the Sipi falls lie. The Sipi falls has three phases and you will visit all of them. The area is so fertile and supports growth of Arabic coffee. You end your day with a coffee tour which will take you through the whole process of coffee production from beans to your cup.

Day 3 Optional activities

Having had breakfast, you may take part in a number of optional activities and these include; Abseiling  on Sipi Falls(USD 60), cultural performance from a local community(USD 50 Per group) or 1 day hike in mountain Elgon(USD 115)

Day 4 Transfer to Pian Upe Game Reserve

Having had breakfast, you will visit the Pian Upe Game Reserve. This is Uganda’s second largest game reserve after Murchison Falls. You are to have a game drive on arrival which will give you chance to see some of the 44 mammal species including  cheetahs, hyenas, lions, buffaloes, Topi, eland, jackals, dik diks, vervet monkeys patas monkeys that reside in the area. This is the only place to see the roan antelope in Uganda.  It is home to about 242 bird species including the rare shoe bill stalk. Overnight will be in the UWA Bandas.

Day 5 Transfer to Kampala

After breakfast, you will go for a guided safari walk with a game ranger who will take you to the reserve’s hotspots. You will later checkout of the park and be transferred to Kampala or Entebbe.
